G41 Powered Crossover
The G41 powers Remote Active 200 and 300 Series installation loudspeakers. It features active crossovers, switched balanced and unbalanced inputs, and employs the same low-feedback topology as Meridian's G55/56/57 amplifiers, which were developed from those used in the flagship DSP8000. Active crossovers dramatically improve the sound of the system as well as making it more efficient. Eight channels of high-power amplification are provided, grouped into four pairs, each providing bass and tweeter outputs from a full-range input. Crossover modules take the form of cards which can be inserted at the time of installation to configure the unit for the speakers in use, and an appropriate card is supplied with each loudspeaker. The fourth channel pair can also be configured as two full-range amplifiers for driving a pair of passive loudspeakers, eg for surrounds.
